About Swarupa

I am a textile artist, designer, and educator. I love playing with colours and textures. Over the years, my relationship with textiles has become very personal—it has grown into a kind of journal, a way of recording my everyday journey.

In my late twenties, I moved to Canada, a transition that brought significant changes to both my work and my perspective. This experience has become a major source of inspiration, and much of my work now reflects my sense of self as seen through the lens of living in a different country.

I work with embroidery, painting, and printing. Alongside my studio practice, I also work with children, which brings a new energy and inspiration into my creative process. Teaching is something I truly enjoy, and I keep creating workshops that are engaging and enjoyable for both children and adults.
